Wisconsin Winter Wheat Production Estimates

New figures released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture shows that winter wheat production in Wisconsin is estimated at 8.69 million bushels this year, down 10 percent from 2019.The agency's Small Grains Summary indicated that 160,000 acres of the crop was planted this year. That's also down 18 percent from last year. Winter wheat harvested area, at 125,000 acres, is 17 percent less than the previous season. Yields are estimated to be around 69 bushels per acre.
Oat production in the Badger State is forecast at 8.25 million bushels, up 27 percent from last year's harvest. Area seeded to oats totaled 300,000 acres, and harvested area was at 131,000 acres. (Wisconsin Ag Connection)
