Onalaska Woman Sentenced for High Speed Chase in Jackson County

-An Onalaska woman arrested after a high speed chase in Jackson County was sentenced in Jackson County Court on Wednesday.According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, back in March, a vehicle failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Highway 108 and Highway 71. When deputies tried to stop them, the vehicle fled, reaching speeds of 110mph. The pursuit stopped after spike strips were used. Davidde Hundt of La Crosse and Stacy Wateski from Onalaska were both arrested. During her court appearance on Wednesday, Wateski was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, possession of methamphetamine and resisting or obstructing an officer.
Two other charges were dismissed and read in. The court accepted a post plea diversion agreement for the possession charge and sentenced Wateski to 12 months of probation for obstructing an officer. Back in July Hundt was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, vehicle operator fleeing an officer. Several other charges were dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 3 years of probation with a condition of one year jail time.
