Granton School Board Discusses Achievement Gap Reduction Report and More at Recent Meeting

-The Granton School Board discussed the End of Year Achievement Gap Reduction Report at their meeting last week.The board discussed, and approved, the report, which needs to be done by every Wisconsin School District each year. The board also approved all 9 of 29 Chapter 9 School Board Policies presented related to instruction, approved the Title IX Policy updates and revisions and approved the COVID School Reference Guide. The board will also review Administrative and Health Team recommendations for COVID Protocol monthly. Finally, the board approved 2020-21 Academic Standards, approved the 2019-20 Seclusion and Restraint Report and approved student transportation for sports.
Also, regarding open enrollment, it was discussed, but no action taken. The board also heard the Administrators’ Reports.
Principal Amanda Kraus reported on the district’s Virtual Spanish Teacher. Kayleigh Vantassel is teaching all middle school and high school Spanish students from Spain. Ms. Vantassel will lead the Belize Trip next summer, travel permitting. Interim Superintendent James Kuchta presented historical data from DPI on enrollment since 1982 of Granton and area schools including Greenwood, Loyal and Neillsville. He also presented information on the Mid-State Dual Credit Agreement between Granton and Mid-State Technical College for Accounting 1, Welding Fundamentals 1 and Welding Fundamentals 2 classes.
