Owen-Withee School Board Hears Administrators' Reports

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Report at their meeting last week.Elementary Principal Julie Van Ark reported on the fundraiser that will “color” her hair if the students raise $500 for the Wisconsin Veteran’s Fishing Camp. Like everything else these days, Grandparents’ Day will be a little different this year. They will be doing a virtual event for Grandparents. Also, picture day was held on Wednesday, September 9th. Kudos was offered to Mr. Dmytro and anybody else who have been working through some of the issues with the virtual learning that they have set up and a big thank you was given to the OW Lions Club for sponsoring the school supply drive again this year. Middle/High School Principal Matt Cihlar reported on how well 6th grade orientation went this year, while homecoming activities like the dance, hall decorating and the assembly have been canceled this year, dress up days and other acceptable activities are being planned.
He also stated picture day was Thursday, September 10th and parent/teacher conferences are still being planned for October 5th. Also, kudos was offered to students and staff for adjusting to the block schedule and to the wearing of masks. Finally, District Administrator Bob Houts reported to the board on the WASB Regional Meeting which will be held virtually this year. Their Region 5 meeting will be on Wednesday, October 7 th from 7PM-8 PM and those planning to attend the virtual event will be provided the information and will attend from home.
