Granton Village Board Hears Library Update

-The Granton Village Board heard an update on the library at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, as the school year is upon us and the library hours are extended, library patrons will be required to wear masks and temp readings will be taken during school hours. The board also heard the Water and Waste Water Reports. The Synthetic Organic Sample was missed in August. The village worked with the DNR and sent the samples late. The samples were good and the time frame will be watched more closely. They cleaned out the ditch by the pond, cleaned up fallen trees, planted trees in the campground, summer help came to an end, worked on equipment and did repairs and upgrades. The board also heard the Clerk’s update. They completed the DNR Recycling grant application and applied for Listerman Grant assistance for the pond.
They also called the DOT to discuss the water run off problem and speed limit signs. The board also heard the Treasurer’s Report. The Deposit and Expense report was presented. The Checking balance is $138,852.25, the Money Market balance is $529,055.28, the Cemetery CD is $16,927.29, the CDBG balance is $32,183.50, and the Library balance is $33,723.62. Finally, the Granton Rotary announced they are interested in donating money toward the speed limit signs and would like to put money toward a dog park. The board discussed at length different options for location.
