Neillsville City Council Swears in New Public Works Director

-The Neillsville City Council began their meeting on Tuesday by swearing in their new Public Works Director.Neillsville Mayor Diane Murphy swore in Luke Friemoth as the new City of Neillsville Director of Public Works. The council also approved to accept the recommendation to name the new park at 1710 Black River Road “Prock Park”. The council also approved to accept the recommendation to proceed with the process for a 7% sewer rate increase and they approved to accept and appropriate $1,000 for Christmas decorations and to thank the Listeman Foundation for the donation.
The council also heard, and approved, a request from the Neillsville Fire Department to close W. Eighth Street from Grand Avenue to Hewett Street and West Street from W. Eighth Street to the rear parking lot of the Brickyard Bar & Grill for their steak feed fundraiser on October 3rd from approximately 3:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. Finally, the council heard the Letter of Resignation for Alderman Joseph Weiers. The council did accept the resignation, reluctantly, and thanked him for his years of service on the council for the past two years.
