STATE TARGETS SEX PREDATORS THIS HALLOWEEN
Friday, October 28th, 2005 -- 8:30 AM
State corrections officials have directed Wisconsin's 48-hundred sex offenders on community supervision not to answer the door if a trick-or-treater happens to show up. The directive also requires the sex offenders to stay away from any Halloween gathering that may involve children. There are 17-and-a-half thousand registered sex offenders in the state, including those who are behind bars and those on extended supervision. State law requires sex offenders to register with their local law enforcement department, and residents are notified when an offender moves into the neighborhood.Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
