Granton School Board Approves Resource Officer and More at Recent Meeting

-The Granton School Board approved several items at their Special School Board meeting last week.The board approved the resignation of Special Education Teacher Nathan Johnson pending payment of liquidated damages for late resignation. They also approved the adult breakfast price increase from $2.00 to $2.40. The board also approved to sell the 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. Sealed bids starting at $500 will be accepted until 4:00pm on September 15th. The board also approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Clark County Sheriff's Office for a School Resource Officer for 2020-21. Funding for the first year is covered through a grant through the Clark County Sheriff's Office.
The board also approved a teacher contract for Kayleigh Vantassel. She will be the Spanish Teacher and will teach virtually from Spain offering either live or recorded lessons for each class every school day. The board also approved the purchase of a new boiler and a second boiler replacement for the pool. Finally, following a demonstration and discussion, the board approved purchase of Board Book, a digital agenda and minutes program.
