Wisconsin Cheese Production Up

Wisconsin cheese plants made more product during July when compared to the same month a year earlier, making it only the second time in the past seven months that year-to-year output rose.Wisconsin Ag Connection reported that according to the latest dairy product summary from the USDA, the state produced 280.5 million pounds of cheese in July. That was 1.2 percent more than last year, but down a slight 0.6 percent lower than this past June, despite that month having less days on the calendar. Nationally, about 1.1 billion pounds of cheese was produced in the United States in June. That was a 1.8 percent increase from 2019.
