(WDLB) -A Marshfield man is jailed after assaulting police officers during his arrest. The altercation took place just before ten o-clock last night in the 1800 block of East Blodgett Street.Marshfield police were called to the scene by a 70-year-old woman who said an unknown man was outside her house, attempting to break into her home and vehicles. When officers arrived on scene, they found a highly-intoxicated 32-year-old Marshfield man lying in the driveway. Police said the man was intentionally uncooperative, using only vulgarity to communicate. The man eventually tried to leave, and that’s when a physical altercation ensued between the man and officers.
When they tried handcuffing him, he attempted to bite them while continuing to disobey their commands. The officers eventually used a Taser to subdue the suspect and place him under arrest. He was taken to the Wood County jail, and is facing charges of battery to a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and felony bail jumping.
