Hewitts Meats Selected as Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Small Business of the Year

-Hewitts Meats in Marshfield has been selected as the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Small Business of the Year.Scott Larson, President of MACCI, stated “In selecting an award winner, some of the following selection criteria used to determine our winner includes economic impact on the community, expansion of business in facility or products/services, longevity/continuity with consistent growth over time, innovation and community involvement. Hewitts Meats started in business in 1939 with two employees. Today, this business employs 17 full-time and part-time employees and is currently being run by a fourth generation of ownership. Through the years, this business has opened a retail store, built a new location, and expanded into Tomahawk.”
“Hewitts Meats is very active in the community and donates their time and products to many local organizations, athletic programs. youth sporting events, and many other non-profits. They are supporters of the United Way’s NOW program, St. John’s Catholic Church Parish Pull, MACCI’s Dairyfest and Business After 5’s, to name a few. In 2019, this company developed a holiday packaging distribution of cheese and sausage filling a void in our community.” Hewitts will be honored at MACCI’s Recognition Breakfast on September 2nd.
