(Marshfield News Herald) -Marshfield Police Chief Rick Gramza is on voluntary leave from the department, officials confirmed Monday.Marshfield Administrator Steve Barg confirmed Gramza's leave but did not give a reason for it. Assistant Police Chief Pat Zeps is leading the department during Gramza's absence, Barg said in an email to the Marshfield News Herald. Gramza has served as Marshfield police chief since May 15, 2014, when former Chief Gary Jepsen retired.
In an email sent to the department Thursday, Zeps asked members not to contact Gramza about his leave of absence out of respect for his privacy. Zeps said he would be in contact with Gramza during his leave and would relay any questions or information department members want to share.
