THIS IS 4H WEEK
Monday, October 3rd, 2005 -- 2:42 PM
National F-H week began Sunday. Karen Sipple is the Youth Development agent in Clark County. She says the 4-H is the largest organization in the world."It's real goal is education. To teach kids life skills so they can become more productive as adults," Sipple says.
There are currently 24 4-H clubs in Clark County and just about 1,000 kids involved. The past year has been exceptionally busy one for the groups. They were extremely involved with Farm Technology Days.
"We had a large responsibility in making sure we provided great hands-on activities and entertainment for the Youth Tent," Sipple said. "There were over 300 volunteers that worked over the 3-days - and that doesn't include all the 4-H Groups that were involved in the entertainment."
Clark County also set up a conference educating those involved with ?adopt-a-highway? programs about the dangers of discarded meth labs.
Sipple has worked with Clark County 4-H clubs for eleven years.
