-The Owen-Withee School Board discussed the district’s membership in the Wisconsin Association of School Boards at their meeting on Monday. The board unanimously approved renewing membership in the WASB for the 2020-21 school year. The board also discussed the transfers from Fund 10 needed to balance the budgets of food service and special education. Food service had a surplus of $30,000 this year so no transfer was needed. Special Education had a budget shortfall of $83,872.26, so a transfer of that amount was approved. The board also discussed the lunch/breakfast prices for 2020-21. Because of the success of their food service program and the fact that they have increased their prices to meet the minimum costs, they do not need to raise meal prices this year.
The board unanimously approved keeping meal prices at the same levels as they were in 2019- 20. Finally, the board approved the resignation of Special Ed Teacher Barb Serocki. Barby has accepted a position as a teacher for the Rural Virtual Academy. She submitted her resignation on June 22. The board unanimously approved her resignation and thanked her for her many years of service to the District.
