-The Neillsville City Council discussed some items regarding the coronavirus at their meeting on Tuesday.Earlier this year, when Governor Tony Evers issued the Safer at Home order, the Neillsville City Council approved an Emergency Order regarding employee leave in case they caught the coronavirus. However, when the Safer at Home Order was lifted, the Emergency Order expired as well. City employees do have state and federal options for leave. The council discussed several options including doing a resolution versus an emergency order and extending the public health leave to the first of the year. In the end, the council approved having the city attorney draft a resolution for the next meeting.
The council also discussed an Emergency Order regarding poll workers. Like the above mentioned order, the order regarding poll workers also expired when the Safer at Home order was lifted. The council approved having the city attorney draft a resolution for poll workers as well. The council also approved accepting $1,542 from the Federal CARES act to be used for elections in order to make them safer during the pandemic.
