Greenwood School Board Receives Staffing Update

-The Greenwood School Board received an update on staffing for the next school year at their meeting on Monday.The district’s only current opening is for a Spanish Teacher and other options for Spanish classes are being investigated. The board also approved the hiring of an additional 6th grade teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. The board also received an update on the status of final 2019-2020 Budget transfers and approved transferring $4,749.91 from Fund Balance to General Fund to balance the 2020-2021 budget. The board also received an update on the 2020-2021 Budget. A preliminary budget will be ready for approval at the August Board Meeting. The board also approved participation in the Federal School Breakfast and Lunch program for 2020-2021. The board also adopted the Wisconsin Model Academic Standards for district academic standards for 2020-2021 and received an update on the reopening plan progress.
The board also reviewed a second Reading of the selected policies 0000’s-2000’s of the NEOLA 29-1 Update, approved the Policies updates in 0000’s-2000’s and conducted a first reading of the selected Policies 3000”s-4000’s of the NEOLA 29-1 Update. The board also received an update on the progress/status of summer projects, discussed the opening of the Fitness Center and school buildings and approved reopening the Fitness Center on August 1st. Information regarding the specifics of the reopening will be mailed to Fitness Center members. Finally, the board approved reopening the weight room and gyms according to WIAA summer contact guidelines and they will address other requests for building use requests on a monthly basis.
