UW-EXTENSION SPONSORS INVESTMENT SEMINARS
Monday, September 19th, 2005 -- 11:50 AM
Area residents can learn how to get the most out of their investments at a couple upcoing seminars. Al Kvitek (kwit-ick) will be leading the seminars entitled ?Understanding the Basics in Investments: The Risks and Rewards of Investing?. Kwitek says he understands investing can be difficult to understand."The word 'investing' to a lot of people is a Greek language," Kvitek says. "I'll try to convert that language to English."
Kvitek will explain the difference between individual stocks, mutual funds and annuities; the power of diversification; and economic influences on performance. Obviously, there are many things influencing investments right now.
"The country is going through a lot of devestation right now. We have wars, we have hurricanes, we've got the fuel economy to deal with," Kvitek explains. "Yet the markets seem strong. It also equates to some interesting discussion."
The seminars will be held on Wednesday, September 21 at Community Agency Insurance & Real Estate in Withee from 7:00 ? 8:30 p.m.; and on Wednesday, September 28 at the Clark County UW-Extension office in the courthouse in Neillsville from 7:00?8:30 p.m.
