Loyal School Board Approves Updates to Two Food Services Policies
Tuesday, June 23rd, 2020 -- 9:05 AM
-The Loyal School Board discussed two food service policies at their meeting last week. Two food service policies required updates because they were 20+ years old. Rather than cutting student participation off when a family has a negative account balance, policy edits were made for the current procedure of mailing notifications. The board also approved the 2020-21 meal price changes, which include the elementary lunch being up .05 to $2.85 per day, Jr. High no change at $3 per day, high school is up .10 to $3.10 per day and breakfasts for all will decrease .10 to $1.50 per day. The board was also updated on various completed maintenance projects mostly involving floor, ceilings and entrances.
Most large purchases have been made previously so that materials can be onsite by the June 30 end of our fiscal year. Interim Administrator Mark Lacke provided some thoughts about the state budget. Normally very few changes are made to the promised financial support for the second year of a biennial budget, but this pandemic has sent the state billions in the red. They have no answers yet.
