Neillsville City Council Hears Public Works Report

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting last week.The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, a burial, trimming and pruning trees, maintaining street lighting, filling pot holes, hauling brush and compost, cleaned up storm damage, sewer repairs, street sweeping and more. They also have been doing street repair, replaced the O’Neil Creek fountain, replaced sidewalk and replaced curb and gutter. They also did lift station maintenance and plant maintenance, reading meters and changing out meters. The council also heard the report from the Economic Development Commission meeting on June 4th. This was the meeting that approved the COVID19 grants and approved an economic development loan.
Finally, they heard the Police and Fire Commission Report from June 9th. They held a closed session to interview candidates for regular full-time police officer and other part-time police officer positions and then reconvened into open session to proceed with the hiring process background checks and testing.
