SHERIFF INVESTIGATES FATAL BOATING ACCIDENT; OPERATOR CITED FOR DRUNK BOATING

The operator of the boat that crashed in Lake Arbutus killing an occupant has been cited for operating the boat while under the influence. The Clark County Sheriff?s Department continuesd investigating the accident that occurred Saturday night. The sheriff?s Department received a 911 call of a boat crash with one person missing. The Clark County Sheriff?s Department and dive team, Black River Falls Fire Department and Department of Natural Resources responded and pulled the body of the female victim from the water at about 10:15 p.m. The operator of the boat, 37-year-old Eric Bolte of Blair, has been cited with operating a motorboat while under the influence of intoxicants. The District Attorney?s office is awaiting autopsy results on the victim, whose name is not being released, before deciding if more charges may be filed.Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
