We have a COVID-19 update for you this afternoon.
Taking a look at the updated state numbers, the state has 357,112 negative tests, 21,593 positive cases (an increase of 285 over yesterday) and 671 deaths, an increase of 10 over yesterday. Of the positive cases, 2,943, or 14%, have been hospitalized. Clark County has 45 positive cases and 1,564 negative. For our neighboring counties, Chippewa has 60 positive and 3,486 negative, Eau Claire has 126 positive and 6,149 negative, Jackson has 20 positive and 1,639 negative, Wood has 13 positive and 2,812 negative, Marathon has 69 positive and 4,261 negative and Taylor has 2 positive cases and 646 negative. Clark County has had 4 people die from the coronavirus. Marathon, Jackson and Wood Counties have had one person die due to the coronavirus.
Even with everything going on, the State Department of Health and Human Services wants to remind you that the coronavirus is still here and still highly contagious. No matter what you’re doing, they ask you to wear a mask, wash/sanitize your hands and try to keep six feet between you and others.
