Wednesday, June 10th, 2020 -- 8:51 AM
-The Owen-Withee School Board had a special meeting at the end of May.The board discussed the plans for the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2020. A “senior recognition” video was put together for the class, showing each member in cap and gown, future plans and honors and awards received. A graduation ceremony, held outdoors on the football field, is planned for Saturday, July 25th at 10:00 AM. This ceremony is contingent on approval of the county health department. Summer school is still up in the air. As guidelines are relaxed, they are hoping to get in a four week summer school in July with limited class sizes. Busing will be very difficult at this point, so transportation may be eliminated this year. The board also approved the resignation of Erin Klapatauskas, the middle school Social Studies/Online Learning Teacher.
The board thanked her for all the time and effort she has put in during her nine years with the district. The board also voted to approve the hire of Mrs. Delyea as the District’s Director of Pupil Services. In addition to continuing in her role as Director of Special Education, she will also serve as District Assessment Coordinator and Title IX Coordinator. She will be hired as an OW employee, working three days per week here and two days per week in Loyal, serving as their Special Ed Director.
