COVID-19 Pandemic Update for the Afternoon of June 8th: State Passes 21,000 Cases

We have a COVID-19 update for you this afternoon.
Taking a look at the updated state numbers, the state has 333,253 negative tests, 21,038 positive cases (an increase of 203 over yesterday) and 646 deaths. Of the positive cases, 2,860, or 14%, have been hospitalized. Clark County has 42 positive cases and 1,471 negative. For our neighboring counties, Chippewa has 59 positive and 3,381 negative, Eau Claire has 124 positive and 5,956 negative, Jackson has 20 positive and 1,520 negative, Wood has 11 positive and 2,616 negative, Marathon has 64 positive and 4,097 negative and Taylor has 2 positive cases and 581 negative. Clark County has had 4 people die from the coronavirus. Marathon, Jackson and Wood Counties have had one person die due to the coronavirus.
Even with everything going on, the State Department of Health and Human Services wants to remind you that the coronavirus is still here and still highly contagious. No matter what you’re doing, they ask you to wear a mask, wash/sanitize your hands and try to keep six feet between you and others.
