COVID-19 Pandemic Update for the Afternoon of June 4th: Almost 500 New Cases of the Virus

We have a COVID-19 update for you this afternoon.
Taking a look at the updated state numbers, the state has 291,367 negative tests, 19,892 positive cases (an increase of 492 over yesterday) and 626 deaths, an increase of 10 over yesterday. Of the positive cases, 2,739, or 14%, have been hospitalized. Clark County has 37 positive cases and 1,326 negative. For our neighboring counties, Chippewa has 58 positive and 3,092 negative, Eau Claire has 116 positive and 5,334 negative, Jackson has 19 positive and 1,350 negative, Wood has 11 positive and 2,309 negative, Marathon has 55 positive and 3,303 negative and Taylor has 2 positive cases and 509 negative. Clark County has had 4 people die from the coronavirus. Marathon, Jackson and Wood Counties have had one person die due to the coronavirus.
Even with everything going on, the State Department of Health and Human Services wants to remind you that the coronavirus is still here and still highly contagious. No matter what you’re doing, they ask you to wear a mask, wash/sanitize your hands and try to keep six feet between you and others.
