2005 CLARK COUNTY FAIR ENDS
Monday, August 15th, 2005 -- 6:20 AM
The rides are down and clean-up is underway at the Clark County Fairgrounds. The weather was perfect. We got some much-needed rain on Thursday and the remainder of the fair was pleasant with seasonable temps and low humidity. We had another great year in the WCCN radio tent.
Yesterday, we had our championships in Brain Warp, Women?s Woodsawing and Men?s Naildriving.
Brain Warp - a game that tests eye-hand coordination and reflexes ? saw a new champion crowned as Ashleigh Sczceck of Thorp knocked off four-time defending champion Rachel Conner or Neillsville. Ashleigh?s score was 35.
In Women?s Woodsawing, Connie Opelt of Neillsville was the champion. She sawed through the 2 X 4 in 7.58-seconds. Coming in second was Dawn Brost of Chili with Arlene Tiemi coming in third.
In Men?s naildriving, Tom Kauth of Loyal was the winner. He pounded six big nails into a 6 X 6 in 16.55-seconds. Paul Weyer and Randy Sebesta rounded out the top three.
And Fox Weyer of Loyal was named the first inductee into our Men?s Naildriving Hall of Fame.
We?ll have more on the Fair coming up at 11:30.
