Neillsville School Board Approves PPE Donation to Neillsville Business

-The Neillsville School Board approved some donations at their meeting on Monday.

The board approved making a donation to Abby Vans in Neillsville. The board approved donating 10, 3D-printed face masks and support tabs to Abby Vans. The board also accepted a few donations including new scoreboards in the auditorium and elementary gym from the Booster Club, cheese from the FFA and FFA Alumni to be distributed to families during meal deliveries and cheese curds from the VICA Club to be distributed to families during meal deliveries. In employment matters, the board approved the resignation of Jessica Calkins from her teaching assistant position and the retirement of Lee Ann Henchen from her elementary teaching position. The board also approved the hiring of Bryce DeSmet for a special education teaching position and Taylor Vander Wegen for an elementary art teaching position. The board also approved teachers for contract renewals for the 2020-2021 school year and approved the principal contracts for Marcy Kunze, Kory Poeschel and Craig Anderson.

The board also heard District Administrator John Gaier’s Report. He reported on Clark County’s COVID-19 statistics, efforts to stop the extension of the Safer at Home order, the governor’s expansion of services at non-essential businesses, this year’s scholarship awards day presentation, graduation ceremony, summer school, drivers education and two thank you cards. He also reported on Emergency Order #31 regarding the Badger Bounce Back program, legal updates, update on London, Paris, Barcelona trip, a flyer for Reading League Wisconsin, a portfolio summary for Donald & Pauline Speich Education Trust, SAA advisory letter on school district budget planning for 2020-2021, school referendum results, WASB Region 5 update and an article regarding the impact of coronavirus on schools.
