A 28-year old Curtiss man is in custody after allegedly stabbing his brother-in-law in abdomen.Juvenal Mateos-Tomas is in Clark County custody after an incident with his brother-in-law late Friday night. The Clark County Sheriff?s Dept. received a call shortly before 11:30 pm, indicating a male had been stabbed. A preliminary investigation indicates that the Mateos-Tomas was arguing with his wife at their Curtiss residence when the victim, 22-year old Wilmer D?Onisio attempted to intervene. A verbal altercation began between Mateos-Tomas and D?Onisio inside the residence and then moved outside. A short time later the suspect returned into the house and came back out with a knife. Mateos-Tomas then located D?Onisio outside and stabbed him in the abdomen.
The Owen-Withee-Curtiss Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene. The victim was then flown from the scene by Spirit of Marshfield air medical transport due to the nature of the injuries.
D?Onisio has since been treated and released from St. Joseph?s Hospital in Marshfield.
The investigation continues and reports will be filed with the Clark County District Attorney?s Office for review of possible charges.
