Growing Together Community Gardens of Marshfield Launching Soon

(Hub City Times) -Growing Together Community Gardens of Marshfield is launching their 11th year of providing community gardening space in the city.“After careful planning, the community gardens in Marshfield will launch their 11th year with Covid-19 safety restrictions in place, allowing residents to grow their own fresh produce for food security, and to provide physical and mental health opportunities,” an organization release said. The group hosts about 80 raised beds, offering square-foot gardening spaces, which can be found at the three community garden sites in the city: First Presbyterian Church, 200 S. Lincoln Avenue; Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 502 W McMillan; and Church of Christ, 1413 S. Felker Avenue. “Full sunshine, fresh compost and rain barrels to capture water make gardening possible and productive with online instruction by master gardeners in basic gardening techniques, square foot gardening for intensive, vertical vegetable production, composting and other topics,” the release said.
Gardeners are asked to complete and sign a user agreement, donate three hours of time in garden maintenance, pay a small fee, and complete a garden orientation session online. Beds are reserved on a first come, first serve basis.
