Loyal School Board Hears Interim Admin's Report

-The Loyal School Board and staff heard some information from Interim Administrator Mark Lacke and their meeting last week.In an update to staff members regarding what was discussed at the recent school board meeting, he stated that “we hoped to return to school but knew it was doubtful. So, what happens now? Lots of questions and options to consider? In my mind, this COVID-19 order will not be lifted until the Milwaukee and Madison areas have been cleared. To try to get back to business in some parts of Wisconsin while the populated areas are still struggling, leaves all of us open for round two of the virus.” He went on to say that things are still very busy for those at school. They are making over 300 bags of lunch/breakfast daily, maintenance work is being done, the business office is buzzing and the admin office is bombarded with DPI/WASB/legal webinars multiple times each day. There are many decisions to make.
He said that all three administrators are trying to stay in touch with staff. They know and understand their frustrations and challenges. They said it seems like ages ago that they had students sitting in front of them. During his note to staff, he also reiterated a big “thank you” given to board president Pastor Dan Zimmerman. He had his last meeting last week. Lacke said, "Whenever an organization runs smoothly, there is a tendency to take it for granted, but don’t. Pastor Dan’s strong leadership is one of the main reasons that the Loyal school board functions cooperatively while supporting the district."
