Look for the Helpers: Colby School District, Hornet's Nest and Abby County Market

-“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’”Those are the inspiring words to Mr. Rogers from his mother, so we’re going to try and find the helpers. Today, we look at a few organizations in the Abbotsford and Colby area. Starting this Friday, the Colby School District, the Hornet’s Nest and Abby County Market will be supplying the Colby School District with 2% milk to be added to the lunch program during the school closure. That's 200 gallons every Friday. Fluid milk is an essential part of the nutritional needs of growing bodies, that's why they want to make sure they get that milk into their hands, and help with avoiding milk dumping in the state. This was possible with the generous donations of local community leaders/businesses including AgCountry Farm Credit Services, Nicolet Bank, J&D Snow Removal, Colby FFA Alumni, Cherokee Garage Inc, and Wild Things Taxidermy. Each week they will announce the sponsor(s) of the week for the Friday milk-drive.
This may be a stressful situation for everyone, but we will get through this. Let's all work together and help each other along as we take the current situation day-by-day. And, if possible, make sure you continue to support our local businesses. They’re going to need our support now more than ever. If you know of someone who’s going above and beyond to help the community during this difficult time and would like them to be acknowledged for their work, please send me an email with details to [email protected].
