Look for the Helpers: Granton School District
Thursday, April 16th, 2020 -- 10:29 AM
-“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’”Those are the inspiring words to Mr. Rogers from his mother, so we’re going to try and find the helpers. Today, we look at the Granton School District. The district has been providing free meals for their students during the time of the closure. They’ve also been sharing pics and videos on their Facebook page on what Granton families are doing during the time of the closure to stay busy and stay connected with other families and students. Around Easter, the school district donated Easter goodies to many of their families receiving the free meals. Teachers and staff have also been providing videos and words of encouragement to their students during the closure. These are just a few items that barely scratch the surface regarding what the district has been doing.
This may be a stressful situation for everyone, but we will get through this. Let's all work together and help each other along as we take the current situation day-by-day. And, if possible, make sure you continue to support our local businesses. They’re going to need our support now more than ever. If you know of someone who’s going above and beyond to help the community during this difficult time and would like them to be acknowledged for their work, please send me an email with details to [email protected].
