(Marshfield News Herald) -A Milwaukee man arrested after a high speed chase in Marshfield appeared in Wood County Court on Tuesday. At the beginning of April, Brandon Wade Alexander Urquhart, 32, was arrested on suspicion of fleeing an officer, recklessly endangering safety, possession with intent to deliver cocaine and methamphetamine and possession of heroin, according to Marshfield police. Officers tried to stop a vehicle around 7:20 p.m. near East Veterans Parkway that was involved in a meth deal earlier this year. The vehicle sped off when officers approached and went east on East Veterans Parkway at high speeds. Officials said the driver threw drugs out of the window and reached speeds of 120 mph. The vehicle also drove in the oncoming lane of traffic on Highway 10. Portage County deputies deflated the vehicle’s tires with stop sticks, and the suspect headed south on Interstate 39 in the northbound lane.
The chase ended when the suspect’s vehicle broke down. Officials said it spanned about 34 miles. Officials said officers found “sizable quantities” of the substance the suspect threw out of his window, which they say was meth and crack cocaine. Police also executed a search warrant where the suspect sometimes resides in the 500 block of North Ash Avenue. Officials said officers found 27 grams of crack cocaine, 125 grams of meth and .5 grams of heroin, carrying a street value of $20,000. During his court appearance on Tuesday, he entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him. He’s scheduled to be back in court July 2nd.
