Bob Meyer Honored with Service to Agriculture Award

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Three longtime friends of the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Farm and Industry Short Course were recognized for their efforts during the group's annual reunion recently.The JS Donald Teaching Award was presented to Dr. Mark Renz, an agronomy faculty member and UW-Extension weed specialist. Renz has been teaching in the FISC program for 12 years. Bob Behnke was presented with the Friend of Short Course Award. He is a dairy farmer from Dane County and former board member of the Wisconsin Agricultural and Life Sciences Alumni Association at UW-Madison. And Bob Meyer was honored with the Service to Agriculture Award for all he has done for agriculture over the years.
He's a former farm director of the Goetz Farm Radio Network and Brownfield Ag News. In 2016, Meyer left radio to become an ag loan officer for Citizens State Bank of Loyal, where he now operates out of the Marshfield branch. Over 100 graduates, current students, supporters and friends of the UW-Madison Farm and Industry Short Course attended the reunion to celebrate the group's accomplishments.
