COVID-19: Recent State Numbers, Peak Time, Social Distancing Grade

-Taking a look at the state numbers in regards to coronavirus cases, as of 2pm yesterday, the state has 35,916 negative tests, 3,341 positive cases and 144 deaths.Of those cases 974, or 29%, have been hospitalized. Clark County now has 8 positive cases and 102 negative. For our neighboring counties, Chippewa has 20 positive and 590 negative, Eau Claire has 21 positive and 1,142 negative, Wood has 2 positive and 263 negative, Marathon has 13 positive and 386 negative and Taylor still has 0 positive and 60 negative. One person has died in Marathon County due to the coronavirus. Wisconsin’s Peak Time for the virus, according to the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation, is now, having shifted from the end of April. The website Unacast, as a part of a COVID-19 took kit, has released grades for each state and every county in the state regarding how well they’re following social distancing procedures using cell phone data. Fortunately, the state of Wisconsin has risen. A week ago, the state had received a grade of D.
Now, the state has received a grade of C-. Fortunately, Clark County has improved significantly from an F last week to a B- this week. All of our neighboring counties have increased as well. Chippewa has a grade of D+, Eau Claire, Jackson and Wood have a grade of C-, Marathon has a grade of C and Taylor has a grade of B. Wisconsin is under a “Safer at Home” order, which askses all residents to avoid unnecessary travel. You can still go to the grocery store or pharmacy, get gas, get dinner from a local business, work in the yard, walk the dog, ride a bike, etc.; just practice social distancing when you do so.
