-If you’re looking for results from last night’s elections, you can't find them yet.Because clerk’s are able to collect absentee ballots until Monday, election results won’t be released until after 4pm on Monday. Absentee ballots must be postmarked from yesterday or turned in yesterday in order for them to be accepted. According to the Wisconsin Elections Commission, as of 8pm yesterday when the polls closed, 1,287,764 absentee ballots were requested. Of those, 1,275,028 were sent. And off all the ones received, only 990,129 were turned back in. The Wisconsin Elections Commission said no major problems were reported, but there were long lines in many polling places as the number of polling places were reduced.
Many locations took extra precautions to combat the coronavirus and try to prevent the spread. Many clerks said that numbers were down, but there were still steady streams of people. National Guard members had to staff many polls as well. 36 guard members were working the polls in Clark County. Chippewa had 32, Eau Claire had 78, 13 in Jackson, 73 in Wood, 53 in Marathon and Taylor had 9.
