Wisconsinites love beer right from the tap, but beer-drinkers have been frustrated by overly frothy heads. Now a Wisconsin native has invented a device that could change keg beer as we know it.
He calls it ?Turbo-Tap? and he claims it can pour a perfect pint in two seconds. The unique feature of Matt Younkle?s design is it fills the glass from the bottom to the top.
While speed was the motivating force, Younkle says that turned out to be just the icing on the cake. Because it doesn?t create a lot of excess foam, ?Turbo Tap? can squeeze up to six more pints out of each keg. He says tests have shown that customers are getting 90-95% yields on their kegs, with some customers showing close to 100% yields. He says at some events with normal taps, up to 40% of the beer is wasted.
?Turbo Tap? leases for $99 a year per tap. It?s already in use at Chicago?s Wrigley Field and some other pro sports stadiums.
