Reminders Regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic

-We have some reminders for you in regards to the coronavirus pandemic.We, like all of you, are being inundated with information regarding the coronavirus outbreak. We encourage you to head to our website and Facebook page to see all the information we have available for you. We have some information right in the yellow box at the top of our homepage and you can look through our archives for information we’ve received over the past few weeks. Also, you can scroll through our Facebook page to see all the posts.
Wisconsin is under a “Safer at Home” order, which asks all residents to avoid unnecessary travel. You can still go to the grocery store or pharmacy, get gas, get dinner from a local business, work in the yard, walk the dog, ride a bike, etc.; just practice social distancing when you do so. Also, the City of Neillsville has declared a State of Emergency and the Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a Health Emergency issued by the county as well. The Clark County COVID-19 Crisis Team continues to work diligently to keep the county employees and residents safe. Many Clark County businesses are closed, but many are still providing services, so please reach out to them and see what’s available. On another note, the Neillsville Police Department has stated that the parks within the City of Neillsville are closed until further notice. During this COVID-19 crisis, Workforce Resource Inc. continues to serve customers through remote services. To contact a Workforce Resource staff member, call toll free 855-792-5439 weekdays from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or email them at [email protected]. Workforce Resource serves 21 counties in West Central and Northern Wisconsin. Services are provided through federal and state programs including FoodShare Employment & Training, Wisconsin Works, Affordable Care Act, Senior Community Services Employment Program, Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act, YouthBuild and Independent Living. For small businesses needing help during these times, please head to the Small Business Development Center's website at https://wisconsinsbdc.org/services/covid-19/ They have numerous resources available for small business owners including grants and loans. The Marshfield Clinic has changed their hours, they are doing screenings for patients and essential visitors, only essential visitors are allowed at this time and they have established numerous resources regarding the COVID-19 Pandemic. Clark County’s schools are closed, but all of them are providing meals for their students. Some are also delivering the meals. Please get in touch with your district to see how to get the meals. Also, the districts are doing at home learning. They are providing resources for students to continue learning and they encourage parents and students to call or email if they have questions. Also, the School District of Neillsville has changed their office hours from 6am-4:30pm to better serve everyone. Garbage pick up has changed for municipalities that use Advanced Disposal, which include Neillsville.
They will only collect garbage in bags that are in containers. They are not collecting free floating garbage. The City of Neillsville’s Ride Share Service has changed. They are no longer doing group rides unless it’s absolutely necessary and all riders are being asked to ride in the back. Also, Sniteman Pharmacy’s lobby is closed, but they are still filling prescriptions and have several options for you to pick them up. Just call 715-743-3500 for more information. The Neillsville Public Library is also closed, but they have plenty of fun resources on their website. And they are continuing their weekly story time live on Facebook. Speaking of story time, you can hear stories read by Neillsville School District staff and students on 92.7FM WPKG and 1370AM WCCN/98.5FM daily at Noon and 5:45pm.
Finally, Marshfield Area United Way has created a COVID-19 Response for the community to use. Just contact them if you need assistance. And the City of Marshfield and faith based communities have created a Hopeline. Just call 715-384-3188.
