Stanley Woman Appears in Court for Embezzlement Charges

-A Stanley woman entered a plea for embezzlement at her arraignment on Monday.

According to court records, Karen Towberman is accused of embezzling $35,000 from the promotional business Dean & Associates.  Towberman stole the money over a 3-year period.  Towberman, as the office manager, had access to the company’s finances.

Towberman is facing two charges of theft of a business setting.  During her arraignment on Monday, she entered a not guilty plea to the charges against her.  She’s scheduled to be back in court on January 11th.
