LARGE CROWD MOURNS FAIRCHILD SOLDIER'S DEATH

Hundreds of people attended the funeral for a soldier from Fairchild who died in a bomb blast in Baghdad. Specialist Charles Kaufman served in the Army National Guard's First Battalion, 128th Infantry from the Eau Claire. Charles Kaufman was fatally injured June 26th when a roadside bomb exploded near his Humvee. Many at the funeral spoke of the 20-year-old Kaufman's courage, confidence and ability. Kaufman was the 40th Wisconsin soldier or Marine killed in Iraq and the second member of the 128th to die in Iraq.Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
