Jackson and Marathon Counties Selected to Receive First New Courts

(WRN) -Calumet, Dunn, Jackson, and Marathon counties have been selected for new circuit court branches.Governor Tony Evers last week signed legislation to create a total of 12 new circuit courts over the next three years Director of State Courts Randy Koschnick announced the first four on Monday. Koshnick said the decision was based on thorough caseload analysis, demonstrated judicial need, county board support, and the ability to have the necessary facilities and support in place by the effective date -- August 1, 2021.
The counties selected for new judgeships are also among counties that received funding in the 2019-21 state budget for additional assistant district attorney positions.
