Attempted Homicide Charges Filed Against Abbotsford Shooting Suspects

(Marshfield News Herald) -Clark County prosecutors have filed attempted homicide charges against two men suspected of shooting another man earlier this month in Abbotsford.Carlos Santiago-Gonzalez, 25, and Joennval Moctezuma-Torres, 22, both face charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree recklessly endangering safety, both as party to a crime. Prosecutors filed the charges Friday, and a judge issued an arrest warrant for both men Monday. According to Colby-Abbotsford police, the shooting happened about 1:10 p.m. Feb. 16 at an apartment at 409 Swamp Buck Drive, Abbotsford. The victim went to Aspirus Hospital in Medford.
He had a gunshot wound and told Taylor County officers he was shot in Abbotsford, according to police. The Medford Police and Taylor County Sheriff's departments locked down the hospital Sunday afternoon. Surveillance cameras showed Carlos Santiago-Gonzalez and Joennval Moctezuma-Torres leaving the scene of the shooting armed with handguns, according to police.
