-The Neillsville School Board approved a 3-year contract with Social School 4 EDU at their meeting on Monday.Social School 4 EDU provides social media services for school districts. Their main focus is to provide celebratory information from districts, whether it be projects done by elementary students, a win from a district sports team or other events. They prefer to focus on the celebration aspect of it, but could also use the social media pages for announcements. There was also a discussion on the multiple pages the district has. It was recommend by the company that all pages be consolidated into one Neillsville School District page. The board members felt this was a good idea so that conflicting information isn’t sent what when you have multiple people able to post to the different pages.
However, they acknowledged that this may make some people unhappy in regards to some of the pages already built. In the end, the board approved the contract, which decreases $500 each year, and they will monitor it closely and gauge the community response from the changes to the social media pages. The Social School 4 EDU will handle the district’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
