La Crosse Man Arrested in Jackson County After High Speed Chase Appears in Court

-A La Crosse man arrested after a high speed chase in Jackson County appeared in court on Monday.According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy stopped to check on a vehicle that was pulled over on Highway 54 in Melrose. A passenger jumped out of the car and the driver fled, reaching speeds of 100mph during the chase.
Spike strips were deployed to stop the driver, Chue Xiong, and he was arrested. He’s facing charges of fleeing an officer, possession of methamphetamine and bail jumping. During is court appearance on Monday, he waived his preliminary hearing and entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him. He’s scheduled to be back in court on March 16th.
