Fate of Extended Bar Hours Bill During the DNC Still Unknown

(WRN) -Will there be expanded "bar hours" for this summer's Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee?Legislation that would allow later hours at bars in Milwaukee County and 12 others in southeast Wisconsin passed the state Assembly on 85-12 vote Thursday. But it also has to pass the state Senate, where Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald said he was uncertain of consensus among his Republican members.
Senate Democrats attempted to force a vote this week, but were blocked by majority Republicans. The DNC is expected to bring some 50-thousand visitors to the state, July 13-16.
