Columbus Catholic High School Awarded Healthy Schools Grant

(Hub City Times) -Columbus Catholic Schools has been awarded a $2,000 Healthy Schools Grant by the Mission: Healthy Kids program, a partnership of Children’s Wisconsin and Kohl’s Cares.Twenty-five Wisconsin schools have received this grant to be utilized during the current 2019-20 school year. Columbus Catholic Middle and High Schools applied to further their work in the area of mindfulness. “Funds from this grant will give our school the opportunity to provide professionally led psychoeducational groups and educate our students on the growing need for mindfulness,” said Lori Wieland, Dean of Students at Columbus Catholic Schools.
She continued, “Based on the results from our Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS), there is a definite need that our students identified surrounding mental health. We are grateful to have these funds awarded to us and we look forward to the positive impact it will have on our students, their families and the community.”
