Wisconsin Delegation Votes Along Party Lines Regarding Equal Rights Amendment

(WRN) -Wisconsin's House delegation voted along party lines, on a measure dealing with the Equal Rights Amendment.The House voted 232 to 183 on Thursday, to adopt a measure that would advance the Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution by replacing a long-expired 1982 deadline for states to vote on ratification with an open-ended deadline. (The ERA states: “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.”)
Wisconsin Democrats Ron Kind, Mark Pocan and Gwen Moore voted "yes," Republicans Bryan Steil, Jim Sensenbrenner, Glenn Grothman and Mike Gallagher voted "no."
