MALMS SHOW OFF FARM AT FTD MEDIA DAY, DAIRY BREAKFAST

The excitement was in air yesterday at Malm?s Rolling Acres northwest of Loyal. The Malms will be hosting Farm Technology Days in July. Tuesday, their farm played host to a dairy breakfast and the annual media day event where members of the media get to tour the facility and get a feel for the farm that will host tens-of-thousands of people in just over a month. Glenn Thompson serves as the General Manager of Farm Technology Days Incorporated.
"The planning is going great," Thompson says. "These people have been planning for three-and-a-half years."
A big draw for the show is ?Tent City? - a virtual city of exhibitors in the middle of one of the Malms? fields. While the field is empty now, the power poles are already in place thanks to Bob Moesley and his utilities committee.
"It's similar to building a small town. We have about 38 poles in tent city," Moesley says.
Farm Technology Days will run from July 12th-14th at the Malm farm, northwest of Loyal. It?s expected to have a $10-million economic impact on the regions economy.
