The military has ordered more than a thousand Wisconsin National Guardsmen to active duty. According to the Guard, the order would bring the total number of Guard soldiers and airmen on active duty to nearly three-thousand. The latest mobilized troops are from two battalions of the Wisconsin National Guard's 32nd "Red Arrow" Infantry Brigade. The troops were ordered to report to their armories in August and then to a mobilization station in Mississippi. The troops are expected to serve about 18 months, including a year overseas. 450 soldiers from the Marshfield, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids areas have been called up.Feel free to contact us with questions and/or comments.
