First Clark County Quarterly Workforce Meeting Held in 2020

-The first Clark County Quarterly Workforce Meeting for 2020 was held on Monday.The group discussed many topics including some numbers for the last three months for the Clark County Workforce Center. The center had a total of 310 people sign in, with 283 returning customers and 27 new customers. They also heard some information about the Mayville Engineering Company, or MEC, here in Neillsville including what they do and some of the honors they’ve received over they years. They also heard a WIOA update and success story, an FSET update, information on a class for students regarding employability skills. They also heard an update on the Youth Apprenticeship Program.
Finally, the group discussed job numbers for Clark County, heard about Clark County Economic Development Corporation’s 2020 Business-to-Business and Career Expo, heard some updates on CVTC and the referendum they’re trying to pass and they heard some information on Clark County’s NewStart Program for newly released inmates. Finally, the group held an informative discussion on child care and other obstacles people face when it comes to their decision regarding entering/continuing a working career.
