Turnout for Wisconsin's Presidential Primary Expected to be Strong

(WRN) -Wisconsin's presidential primary is April 7, and turnout should be strong.According to a new study from 24/7 Wall Street, Wisconsin has the 2nd highest primary voter turnout in the nation. The site analyzed data from the 2016 presidential election. Just over 49 percent of Wisconsinites turned out to vote in the primaries. They broke down the numbers further, showing just over one point one million voted Republican, while just over a million voted for Democrats. Wisconsin has 4 point 2 million eligible voters.
Of that total, the state elections commission says 3 point 3 million are active registered voters. New Hampshire had the highest primary turnout. Vermont was 3rd, Illinois 4th and Ohio rounded out the top 5. On the flip side, Minnesota was among the states with lowest primary turnout.
